When a spill on the carpet or upholstery occurs it should be blotted up as quickly as possible. The process of removing a spill from the carpet is to put a towel on the spill and let it soak up the excess liquid. Using a towel to absorb the liquid is known as blotting. Blotting with a towel is more effective for removing a spot than rubbing the spill with a towel. Rubbing a spot with a towel will drive the spot further into the carpet!
Okay, now for the Portland carpet care secret! When using a spotter to remove a spot it should sprayed into a towel and not into the carpet. I bet you have never heard of that before? Spraying spotter into the carpet actually uses a lot of spotter and leaves excess sticky residue that attracts more soil and creates a bigger problem.
Hope this information is helpful….Thanks for stopping by,
